Fascias and Soffits Tetbury

Tetbury's newer homes around the edge of town often have timber roofline boards that have weathered for years, while the Cotswold stone buildings of the centre, much of it a conservation area, may call for a different approach. For most modern homes in Tetbury, uPVC fascias and soffits end the painting and the rot.

Tetbury is part of the area we cover from near the Bristol and Bath border. Every job includes a free survey and a fixed price in writing, comes with a ten year guarantee, and you pay nothing until the job is finished and you are happy.

How Much Do Fascias and Soffits Cost in Tetbury?

The price of new fascias and soffits in Tetbury depends on the size of the house, the amount of roofline and any gables or dormers.

The main things that affect the price are:

  • The length of roofline to be replaced
  • The height of the house and the scaffold needed
  • How many gables, bays and bargeboards there are
  • The condition of the timber behind the old boards
  • Whether the gutters are being replaced at the same time
  • Whether dry verge is being fitted to the gables
  • The volume of old boards and waste to take away
  • Whether the property is listed or in the conservation area, which may restrict the materials used

Every job is priced after a free survey, and you get a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts.

Fascia Board Replacement in Tetbury

When fascias rot, gutters sag and water runs down the stonework. We replace them with uPVC on Tetbury homes, checking the timber behind as we go. On listed buildings and some conservation area properties, uPVC may not be permitted, and we will flag it at survey if we think that applies.

Soffit Replacement

Split or missing soffits leave the eaves open to damp and birds. We fit new uPVC soffits to match the fascias.

Bargeboards and Dry Verge

Gables and dormers are common around Tetbury, each with its own bargeboards. We replace worn bargeboards in uPVC and fit a dry verge system along the gable where suitable.

Fascias and Guttering Replaced Together

Since the gutters come down when the fascias are replaced, most Tetbury customers have new guttering fitted at the same time. Gutter-only work is available too.

Signs Your Fascias and Soffits Need Replacing

Flaking paint, soft timber, gutters that sag or overflow and staining on the stone below the eaves are the usual signs on a Tetbury home.

Fascias and Soffits Questions

Anything not covered here, just ask. We would rather answer a question now than have you guess.

0117 322 4967

What are fascias and soffits?

The fascia is the board that runs along the lower edge of the roof and carries the gutter. The soffit sits underneath it, closing the gap between the fascia and the wall. On gable ends, the boards that run up the slope of the roof are called bargeboards.

Why replace timber fascias with uPVC?

Timber needs regular painting and eventually rots, taking the gutter with it. uPVC does not need painting and does not rot, so once it is fitted there is far less to maintain.

Can you replace the gutters at the same time?

Yes. The gutters have to come down to replace the fascias anyway, so most customers have new guttering fitted at the same time and the whole roofline is new.

Do you need scaffolding?

On most houses, yes, so the work can be done safely and properly. We own our scaffold, so there is no waiting on a hire company.

Do I have to pay anything up front?

No. You get a full written estimate before we start, and you only pay once the job is finished and you are satisfied with it.

What guarantee do I get?

Every job carries a ten year guarantee, which we give you in writing when we sign the work off.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Surveys and quotes are free and there is no obligation. You get a clear written price before any work starts.

How much do new fascias and soffits cost?

It depends on the length of roofline, the height of the house and whether gutters and bargeboards are included. The cost section above sets out the main factors, or call us for a free survey and a fixed written price.
