Fascias and Soffits Keynsham

Keynsham's interwar and postwar semis, spread up the hillsides from the town centre, were mostly built with timber roofline boards, and many are now showing their age. Replacing tired fascias and soffits with uPVC in Keynsham stops the rot and ends the repainting, whether the house is a 1930s semi or a later family home.

We have been roofing since 1993 and Keynsham is part of our main patch. Every job comes with a free survey, a fixed price in writing and a ten year guarantee, and you pay nothing until you are happy.

How Much Do Fascias and Soffits Cost in Keynsham?

The cost of new fascias and soffits in Keynsham depends on the length of roofline, the height of the eaves and how many gables and bays the house has.

The main things that affect the price are:

  • The length of roofline to be replaced
  • The height of the house and the scaffold needed
  • How many gables, bays and bargeboards there are
  • The condition of the timber behind the old boards
  • Whether the gutters are being replaced at the same time
  • Whether dry verge is being fitted to the gables
  • The volume of old boards and waste to take away
  • Access and scaffold on Keynsham's steeper streets

Every job is priced after a free survey, and you get a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts.

Fascia Board Replacement in Keynsham

Rotten fascias let the gutter sag and water spill down the wall. We strip the old timber from Keynsham homes, check the timber behind, and fit new uPVC fascias that will not need painting again.

Soffit Replacement

Soffits keep the eaves closed off from damp and birds. When the old boards split or drop, we replace them with uPVC soffits that match the new fascias.

Bargeboards and Dry Verge

Gable ends on Keynsham's semis carry bargeboards that face the worst of the weather. We replace worn bargeboards in uPVC and fit a dry verge along the gable where suitable.

Fascias and Guttering Replaced Together

The gutters come off when the fascias are changed, so it usually makes sense to fit new guttering at the same time. On Keynsham jobs that leaves the whole roofline new and lined up, and gutter-only work is available too.

Signs Your Fascias and Soffits Need Replacing

Flaking paint, soft timber, gutters that sag or overflow, and loose soffit boards are the usual signs that the roofline on a Keynsham home is ready for replacing.

Fascias and Soffits Questions

Anything not covered here, just ask. We would rather answer a question now than have you guess.

0117 905 9458

What are fascias and soffits?

The fascia is the board that runs along the lower edge of the roof and carries the gutter. The soffit sits underneath it, closing the gap between the fascia and the wall. On gable ends, the boards that run up the slope of the roof are called bargeboards.

Why replace timber fascias with uPVC?

Timber needs regular painting and eventually rots, taking the gutter with it. uPVC does not need painting and does not rot, so once it is fitted there is far less to maintain.

Can you replace the gutters at the same time?

Yes. The gutters have to come down to replace the fascias anyway, so most customers have new guttering fitted at the same time and the whole roofline is new.

Do you need scaffolding?

On most houses, yes, so the work can be done safely and properly. We own our scaffold, so there is no waiting on a hire company.

Do I have to pay anything up front?

No. You get a full written estimate before we start, and you only pay once the job is finished and you are satisfied with it.

What guarantee do I get?

Every job carries a ten year guarantee, which we give you in writing when we sign the work off.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Surveys and quotes are free and there is no obligation. You get a clear written price before any work starts.

How much do new fascias and soffits cost?

It depends on the length of roofline, the height of the house and whether gutters and bargeboards are included. The cost section above sets out the main factors, or call us for a free survey and a fixed written price.
