Fascias and Soffits Saltford

Saltford's many twentieth century detached and semi-detached homes were largely built with timber fascias, soffits and bargeboards. Decades on, many of those boards are peeling, soft or sagging, and larger detached homes can have a lot of roofline to keep painted. New uPVC roofline in Saltford takes that job off your list.

Saltford is part of our main patch. You get a free survey, a written fixed price and a ten year guarantee, and you pay nothing until the job is finished and you are happy.

How Much Do Fascias and Soffits Cost in Saltford?

The price of fascias and soffits in Saltford depends mainly on how much roofline the house has. Larger detached homes with hips, gables and garages naturally take more than a smaller semi.

The main things that affect the price are:

  • The length of roofline to be replaced
  • The height of the house and the scaffold needed
  • How many gables, bays and bargeboards there are
  • The condition of the timber behind the old boards
  • Whether the gutters are being replaced at the same time
  • Whether dry verge is being fitted to the gables
  • The volume of old boards and waste to take away
  • The extra roofline on larger detached homes, including garages and extensions

Every job is priced after a free survey, and you get a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts.

Fascia Board Replacement in Saltford

Rotten fascias on Saltford homes let gutters sag and leak. We remove the old boards, check the timber behind while it is exposed, and fit new uPVC fascias that will not need painting.

Soffit Replacement

When soffits split or come away, the eaves are open to damp and birds. We fit new uPVC soffits that match the fascias for a neat finish.

Bargeboards and Dry Verge

Saltford's gable-ended homes have bargeboards that take the full weather. We replace them in uPVC and fit a dry verge along the gable where suitable.

Fascias and Guttering Replaced Together

With the gutters coming down anyway to change the fascias, most Saltford customers have new guttering fitted at the same time. If you only need gutter work, we can do that too.

Signs Your Fascias and Soffits Need Replacing

Peeling paint, soft or split timber, gutters that dip or overflow, and damp staining on the walls under the eaves all point to a roofline that needs replacing.

Fascias and Soffits Questions

Anything not covered here, just ask. We would rather answer a question now than have you guess.

01225 458489

What are fascias and soffits?

The fascia is the board that runs along the lower edge of the roof and carries the gutter. The soffit sits underneath it, closing the gap between the fascia and the wall. On gable ends, the boards that run up the slope of the roof are called bargeboards.

Why replace timber fascias with uPVC?

Timber needs regular painting and eventually rots, taking the gutter with it. uPVC does not need painting and does not rot, so once it is fitted there is far less to maintain.

Can you replace the gutters at the same time?

Yes. The gutters have to come down to replace the fascias anyway, so most customers have new guttering fitted at the same time and the whole roofline is new.

Do you need scaffolding?

On most houses, yes, so the work can be done safely and properly. We own our scaffold, so there is no waiting on a hire company.

Do I have to pay anything up front?

No. You get a full written estimate before we start, and you only pay once the job is finished and you are satisfied with it.

What guarantee do I get?

Every job carries a ten year guarantee, which we give you in writing when we sign the work off.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Surveys and quotes are free and there is no obligation. You get a clear written price before any work starts.

How much do new fascias and soffits cost?

It depends on the length of roofline, the height of the house and whether gutters and bargeboards are included. The cost section above sets out the main factors, or call us for a free survey and a fixed written price.
