Roof Cleaning Filton

Filton's interwar and postwar semis and terraces often have roofs that have gathered moss for decades, particularly on shaded rear slopes. Roof cleaning in Filton clears the growth, tidies the roof and helps it shed water.

We have been roofing since 1993 and Filton is part of our main patch. Every roof clean starts with a free survey and a fixed price in writing, comes with a ten year guarantee, and you pay nothing until the job is finished.

How Much Does Roof Cleaning Cost in Filton?

The cost of roof cleaning in Filton depends on the size of the roof, the covering and how much moss has built up.

The main things that affect the price are:

  • The size of the roof
  • The height and pitch of the roof, and the access needed
  • How much moss and growth has built up
  • Whether the roof is tiled or slated
  • Whether the gutters are being cleared as part of the job
  • The volume of moss and debris to take away
  • Rear slopes and back additions shaded by neighbouring houses, which often carry the heaviest moss

Every roof clean is priced after a free survey, and you get a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts.

Soft Washing

Soft washing then cleans the roof at low pressure, lifting grime and staining from clay and concrete tiles without a high-pressure jet.

Roof and Gutter Cleaning

As part of each Filton roof clean, we clear the moss and debris out of the gutters and downpipes, so the rain drains away.

Why Moss Is Worth Removing

Moss holds water on the tiles through the winter and blocks the gutters when it washes down. Clearing it keeps an older roof drier.

Roofers, Not Just Cleaners

As roofers, we look over the tiles, ridges and flashings while we are on a Filton roof. If we find a slipped tile or cracked ridge, we will tell you and can put it right.

Roof Cleaning Questions

Anything not covered here, just ask. We would rather answer a question now than have you guess.

0117 905 9458

Will roof cleaning damage my tiles?

We clean using soft washing, a low-pressure method, rather than blasting the roof with a high-pressure jet. As roofers, we know how to work on a roof without damaging it, and if we find a tile or slate that is already cracked or loose, we will tell you.

How long will my roof stay clean?

It depends on the roof. Shaded and north-facing slopes, and roofs near trees, tend to grow moss back sooner than roofs in the open. We can talk you through what to expect for your roof at the survey.

Do you clear the gutters as well?

Yes. Moss that comes off the roof ends up in the gutters, so we clear the gutters and downpipes as part of every roof clean.

Do you need scaffolding?

It depends on the height and shape of the roof. Where scaffold is needed, we use our own, so there is no waiting on a hire company.

Do I have to pay anything up front?

No. You get a full written estimate before we start, and you only pay once the job is finished and you are satisfied with it.

What guarantee do I get?

Every job carries a ten year guarantee, which we give you in writing when we sign the work off.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Surveys and quotes are free and there is no obligation. You get a clear written price before any work starts.

How much does roof cleaning cost?

It depends on the size of the roof, the access and how much moss has built up. The cost section above sets out the main factors, or call us for a free survey and a fixed written price.
