Roof Repairs Colerne
Colerne sits high on a ridge above the By Brook valley, not far from Bath, and its elevated position leaves roofs open to the wind and rain. The village has older stone cottages and houses around its centre and later twentieth century homes beyond. Roof repairs in Colerne often start with weather damage: slipped tiles, lifted ridges and flashings that have worked loose.
We cover Colerne from our base near the Bristol and Bath border. Every repair starts with a free survey and a fixed written price, carries a ten year guarantee, and you pay nothing until the work is finished and you are happy.

How Much Do Roof Repairs Cost in Colerne?
Roof repairs in Colerne are priced after a survey. The covering, the age of the property and how exposed the roof is all affect what the job involves.
The main things that affect the price are:
- What is actually causing the problem, which the survey confirms
- The roof covering, whether tile, slate or a flat roof
- The height of the property and the access and scaffold needed
- How far any damage has spread, particularly to battens, underlay or timbers
- Whether chimneys, valleys or flashings are involved
- Exposure on the hilltop, which can mean damage along the ridge and verges as well as the main slopes
You get a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts, and the survey and quote are free with no obligation.

Roof Leak Repairs in Colerne
Wind-driven rain on an exposed hilltop finds weak points fast. In Colerne, leaks often start at a slipped tile, cracked ridge mortar or a flashing that has worked loose. We check inside and out to trace the source.
Slipped, Cracked and Missing Tile and Slate Repairs
We replace slipped, cracked and missing tiles and slates to match your existing roof, on older stone cottages and newer homes alike. No job is too small.
Ridge Tile Repairs
Ridges take the brunt of the wind in a hilltop village. When the mortar cracks, ridge tiles loosen. We rebed and repoint ridges, or fit a dry-fix ridge system that is mechanically fixed and does not rely on mortar.
Flashing and Valley Repairs
Chimney stacks and abutments on Colerne's older properties rely on flashings that take a lot of weather. We repair and renew flashings around chimneys, valleys and abutments in Colerne.
Storm Damage and Urgent Roof Repairs
Colerne's position means storms can hit roofs hard. We prioritise leaks and storm damage that are letting water in, make the roof safe quickly where needed, and follow up with a permanent repair using our own scaffold.
Repair or Replace?
Most roof problems in Colerne are repairs, and we will tell you when yours is. If the whole roof has failed, we will explain what we found and set out the options in writing.
